Our little boy is growing by leaps and bounds. And we've had fun watching it all happen.
Brady continues to amaze us with how laid back he is. We told him before his birthday that when he turned 2, the Binky Fairy would come and take his pacifiers to give to younger kids who need them. So, after several weeks of not letting Brady use the pacifier during the day and only using at bedtime, we packed up Brady's pacifiers and put them out for the Binky Fairy. He didn't ask for one until 3 days later when he'd had a rough and cranky day. We simply told him that we didn't have them anymore because the Binky Fairy was using them for other kids. And he seemed okay with it. So, we've been binky-free for almost a month. Amazing!
He continues to master new skills, it seems, on a daily basis. Brady is continuing to hone his food etiquette skills. He is almost perfect when it comes to using a fork. He also (just within the last week) has gotten really good at using a spoon to eat cereal, yogurt, etc. And just 3 days ago, we tried a "big boy" cup and he used this well without any issues. He does get a little over-zealous with how much liquid he gulps in at a given sip...but other than that, he's really doing well. Mom is most happy about this new found adeptness!
We've also started pre-potty training (if there is a such a thing). We brought out the little potty and talk to Brady about it a lot. He received an Elmo Potty Book for his birthday too. So, we're hoping to start this adventure in a few more months after we feel Brady (and his parents) is a bit more ready.
Brady's verbal skills have continued to take off. He makes full sentences now (no exaggeration, folks!) Examples: "Daddy sing Rubber Ducky", "Doggy looking at dinosaur", "Mommy take a shower". It totally amazes us! Sometimes he still needs his mommy or daddy translator for others to understand, but he really says a great deal. He also now recites parts of books (especially Go Dog Go) and sings full song verses.
