White Turf Racing

This past weekend, we joined the American Women's Club and attended the White Turf Races in St. Moritz, Switzerland. White Turf is an apt name because the town of St. Moritz turns the frozen lake situated in town into a horse racetrack. This was a fascinating event located in a BEAUTIFUL town. We definitely want to go back to St. Moritz. The town is in a valley surrounded by mountains. The weather yesterday was perfect...sunny, wonderful blue skies and cold (but not too cold).

Bill and I felt this was probably like a scaled down version of an event like the Kentucky Derby. There were many well-dressed, well-heeled people there for the races. Many people (both men and women) were wearing their furs. Brady particularly enjoyed his first big encounter with snow and had fun stomping in piles. It was a fun day. Below are some impressions of the day. For more details on the races, visit www.whiteturf.ch and we also have more photos of the day posted on our Picasa site. (Link on the left side of the blog.)
